Additional flights added for summer holidays

National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines announced yesterday that it will schedule more than 700 extra domestic flights from July to August 5 to meet the increased travel demand during the summer holidays.

The additional flights will be added to routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to the major tourist centres of Nha Trang, Da Lat and Phu Quoc.

Extra flights will be added to 16 domestic routes and provide up to 1,255,000 additional seats, a 9% increase over the same period last year.

The airline will provide an average of 20 extra flights per day, with the largest number of flights, 68, going to Da Nang. There will be 28 more flights to Nha Trang; 20 extra to Phu Quoc and 16 more to Da Lat.

The Hanoi - Da Nang route will see 210 additional flights, 30% more than the same period last year and the most extra flights anywhere during this period.
