Jakarta – About 25.2 million micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) had entered the digital ecosystem in Indonesia as of 2023, according to Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
Under the Proud of Indonesian Products National Movement (Gernas BBI), the Indonesian Government is targeting 30 million MSMEs to enter the digital ecosystem by the end of 2024.
In addition, Indonesia is also pressing for the transaction target of 50 billion IDR (3.11 million USD) in each province to be achieved, the official was quoted by local media as saying.
Pandjaitan noted that the level of spending realisation for ministries, institutions, regional governments, and State-owned enterprises had increased by 80 per cent, from 749 trillion IDR in 2022 to 1,349.8 trillion IDR in 2023.
Meanwhile, Indonesian Communication and Informatics Minister Budi Arie Setiadi said that collaboration and comprehensive support from all parties are of the essence to create an innovation-oriented inclusive digital ecosystem.
Setiadi said that to realise the Digital Indonesia 2045 Vision, his ministry is working to ensure inclusive digital development by providing equitable access to digital services and technology as well as a safe and secure digital space for all Indonesian citizens.
He then noted that the Digital Indonesia 2045 Vision encompasses four main missions, including one related to the acceleration of digital transformation as an effort to stimulate economic growth, improve the quality of public services, and strengthen national defense and security.
