VIR will hold a conference themed “Tax Amendments to Promote Business Activities” from 8:30 am on August 14.

The conference aims to gather opinions and help drafting agencies to ensure a multidimensional perspective to the amended Special Consumption Tax Law, which is being drafted by the Ministry of Finance and is expected to be debated at the National Assembly’s eighth session in October-November 2024 and approved in May 2025.

The conference will combine keynote speakers and discussion sessions with the participation of domestic and international organisations, tax experts, and representatives of leading beverage enterprises.

Keynote speakers:

  • Chu Thi Van Anh, Vice chairwoman cum general secretary of the Vietnam Beer, Alcohol, and Beverage Association (VBA)
  • Bui Ngoc Tuan, deputy director general of Tax Advisory Services at Deloitte Vietnam
  • Le Minh Trang, deputy director of retail study at NielsenIQ Vietnam

Panel members:

  • Phan Duc Hieu, standing member of the Economic Committee of the National Assembly
  • Hoang Van Cuong, a member of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee
  • Le Tuan Anh, director-general of the Department of Industrial Economics under the Ministry of Planning and Investment
  • Huong Vu, general director of Ernst & Young Consulting Vietnam
  • Nguyen Thi Cuc, chairwoman of the Tax Advisory Council in Vietnam
  • Nguyen Van Phung, senior expert on taxation and corporate governance
