On June 28, VinSmart, a member company of Vingroup, released its announcement about the co-operation with Fujitsu Connected Technologies Ltd. from Japan and Qualcomm Group from the US to produce 5G smartphones under the Vsmart brand. Accordingly, these smartphones will be kitted out with Snapdragon 5G module solutions of Qualcomm and Fujitsu’s utilities for energy saving, waterproofing, and 4G and 5G antenna systems.

VinSmart is recognised one of first 5G smart phone manufacturers on the world and add Vietnam in list of countries go pioneer in manufacturing and supplying equipment with 5G service.

The co-operation with the leading groups from the US and Japan is expected to create smartphones of cutting-edge technology, aesthetic design, and suitable pricing, while simultaneously demonstrating Vingroup's capacity for pioneering cutting-edge technology.

Nguyen Viet Quang, deputy chairman cum general director of Vingroup, said, “Co-operating with the world’s leading technology groups is part of Vsmart’s plan to develop smartphones and other smart products. Vingroup commits to provide customers with high-quality products that offer strong security and modern technology.”

With this co-operation, VinSmart will become one of the first 5G smartphone manufacturers on the world and add Vietnam to the list of countries pioneering manufacturing and supplying 5G equipment.

Earlier on June 10, Vingroup organised the ground-breaking ceremony for its smartphone manufacturing project located in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park in Thach That district of Hanoi.

The plant covers an area of 15.2 hectares and the construction is divided into two phases. The first phase is expected to be completed on August 15, 2019 with the capacity of 23 million units per year. The second phase will be finished in October with the capacity of 34 million units per year. By early 2020, the total annual capacity of the plant will reach 125 million units.

The plant meets international standards for electronic and telecommunications equipment manufacturing plants. Besides, all equipment and machinery will be the most modern version of its kind, with numerous lines imported from the US, Germany, and Japan.

Furthermore, Vingroup also co-operates with the world’s leading technology groups, namely Qualcomm, Google, ArcSoft, and DxO, to ensure it uses the most modern technology, while simultaneously co-operating with famous original design manufacturers. Vingroup targets achieving maximum automation, decreasing human error and increasing quality, quantity, as well as accuracy.
