VinBus reaches new milestone in completing electric bus system

VinBus and Advantech Vietnam Technology signing the cooperation contract

VinBus Ecology Transport Services LLC (VinBus) and Advantech Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd. (Advantech VN) held a signing ceremony for a strategic cooperation contract on the development of a smart bus management system. With IoT solutions, VinBus electric buses will be the first public passenger transport means equipped with modern technology to improve safety as well as provide convenient services to customers.

According to the cooperation agreement, VinBus and Advantech Vietnam will jointly research and cooperate in business activities and support each other with technology platforms and technical facilities for the electric bus system project. The solutions that will be developed are AI camera to monitor the driver’s behaviour, WiFi for the passengers, location tracking equipment, in-vehicle surveillance system, and fleet management system.

Specifically, the smart monitoring system will immediately issue alerts if the driver shows signs of distraction, drowsiness, or fatigue. Service attitude, vehicle speed, and schedule will also be supervised extensively to ensure the best service quality. In addition, free WiFi, on-board entertainment system, and other utilities will bring passengers an enjoyable and relaxing experience while onboard.

At the signing ceremony, Thanh Nguyen, deputy CEO of VinBus, said, “When choosing a partner for the project, VinBus always puts quality and efficiency first. In a short period of time, VinBus has connected with leading global partners to build up an extensive operating system from electric bus charging facilities – the largest system of its kind in ASEAN – to the first smart operation solution based on an IoT platform for electric buses in Vietnam.

VinBus will operate 100 per cent electric buses manufactured by VinFast, ensure safety to passengers, stay environmentally friendly, and contribute to improving the quality of life for Vietnamese people.
