Hanoi - President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on July 17 sent a message of sympathy to President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier over severe flooding triggered by torrential rains in the states of Rhineland-Palatinate, North Rhine-Westphalia and Saarland that claimed dozens of lives and left thousands missing.

On the same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Chinh also extended his sympathy to German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
