Vietnam is expected to reopen tourism activities from March 15 |
The Government Office on February 16 issued Document No.43/TB-VPCP on the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam about the reopening of tourism activities. Accordingly, he agrees with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s (MCST) proposal and other ministries and agencies about the resumption date.
He asked the MCST to work with relevant ministries and agencies on the regulations to welcome international tourists and announce the reopening scheme with detailed guidance for units and localities to follow.
The MCST is also requested to work with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other ministries and agencies on a detailed report about the entry visa policy for international visitors, and quicken to submit these to the government.
According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, international tourist arrivals to Vietnam in 2021 fell 95.9 per cent on-year due to the pandemic.
