Swing for the Kids resumes its charitable adventure

After a year of suspension, the newest iteration of the Swing For the Kids charity golf tournament restarted on April 16, continuing to spread the values of humanity among the business community and golfers, as well as its journey of winging the dreams of thousands of poor children.

The opening ceremony saw speeches by Le Trong Minh, VIR’s editor-in-chief and Le Khac Hiep, vice chairman of Vingroup, welcoming representatives of partner sponsors, benefactors, and the press. It was launched at BRG Kings’ Island Golf Resort in Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi, with the participation of 240 golfers.

During the ceremony, Minh said, “We are delighted and honoured to continue partnering and connecting with enterprises, benefactors, and golfers in order to strengthen our contributions to society through the upcoming tournaments."

This year's tournament was enhanced by the presence of Miss World Vietnam 2010, Dang Ngoc Han, Vietnam Television MCs Quynh Hoa and Mai Ngoc, and actor Luong Thanh Hang.

"Hopefully, Swing for the Kids will continue to attract more female golfers in the coming years, thus promoting the contributions of women to social activities and sports," Minh added.

After 15 years, Swing for the Kids' prominence continues to grow as it captures the attention and support of various businesses and social organisations. These include BRG Group and SeABank, who have co-organised the awards for many years; Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. (diamond sponsor); and Vingroup (platinum sponsor). Other sponsors include Kinderworld International Education Group, Sun Group, Bob Parsons Foundation of BRG Group, and Vietnam Beverage Co., Ltd.

Additionally, the 15th tournament welcomed DOJI Jewelry Group JSC, which made its debut at this year's tournament. For the second consecutive year, Anh Tuan Travel Service Company is a Hole in One sponsor while Maxum Paint became a first-time Hole-in-One sponsor.

The tournament has attracted the interest of many other businesses who want to assist disadvantaged children, such as Vietnam Textile and Garment Group, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam, Inochi of Tan Phu JSC, Tasco JSC, Hoa Binh Co., Ltd., and many more.
