Under the agreement, the parties will establish a new maritime transport corridor featuring a "two ports, one route" model, directly connecting northern China and southern Vietnam. The aim is to enhance bilateral cargo handling capacity and improve the efficiency of trade between Vietnam and China.
This initiative will create an integrated logistics ecosystem spanning port operations, sea transport, and logistics services. The partnership aims to optimise business costs and improve operational efficiency for all parties involved.

In addition, the three-party alliance will explore the expansion of various shipping routes, including container and dry bulk cargo, as well as the integration of international warehousing. It will also introduce supporting services such as customs clearance, finance, and insurance to form a comprehensive service chain.
Speaking at the signing event, Cui Tiecheng, deputy general director of SPG Bohaiwan Port, highlighted that since the official launch of the two-way transport route between Vietnam and Weifang Port, Shandong, China in August last year, the partnership has successfully completed 15 voyages, transporting over 370,000 tonnes of high-value goods, including advanced industrial equipment and raw materials.
In April, a Vietnamese general cargo vessel successfully transported goods from Liaoning, China to Long An International Port, marking a breakthrough in the direct maritime route between the two countries.
“These achievements have laid a solid foundation for today's strategic agreement and demonstrated the significant potential and promising outlook of this trilateral cooperation,” Tiecheng emphasised.
He expressed their aspiration to work with Long An International Port and Bohwa Shipping to build the Weifang-Long An route into a high-quality model project for Vietnam-China economic and trade cooperation. At the same time, the partners plan to boost the export of key strategic products from both countries to global markets.
Huynh Van Son, vice chairman of Tay Ninh People's Committee, stated that the signing marks the beginning of a new phase of development, opening up major opportunities for Tay Ninh's integration into global logistics supply chains.
“In particular, the establishment of a regular international shipping route will not only promote trade facilitation but also provide a practical solution to reduce logistics costs and enhance competitiveness for local enterprises,” said Son.
Son added that in Tay Ninh's new development strategy, logistics has been identified as a key strategic sector, playing a direct role in connecting production systems, import-export activities, cross-border trade, and regional markets.
SPG Bohaiwan Port is located at the heart of the Shandong Peninsula, a key industrial and logistics hub in northern China, with strong connectivity to extensive neighbouring coastal economic zones.
Bohwa Shipping is a professional maritime transport operator, equipped with a modern fleet and a global supply chain network. It plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth and efficient two-way cargo flows.
Meanwhile, Long An International Port, located in Tay Ninh province, serves as a key junction within the region's multi-layered logistics corridor. It connects the Southeastern region via Ho Chi Minh City, the Mekong Delta, and international markets. With modern infrastructure, the port is currently capable of accommodating vessels of up to 70,000 DWT. Together with integrated logistics services, the port is motivated to become a leading logistics and cargo transshipment hub in the region.
