Vietnam Report has officially announced the Top 50 effective public companies (VIX50) in 2021.
Specifically, six banks are among the top 10 largest, most effective listed companies, including Vietcombank, ACB, VPBank, VIB, MB and Techcombank. These banks are ranked from fourth to ninth, respectively.
The remaining four companies in the top 10 include Vinhomes (real estate), Hoa Phat Group (steel), Mobile World Group (retailer), and Vinamilk (dairy).
According to Vietnam Report, banks are the backbone of the domestic economy as well as an essential channel for capital flow. The banking group has also recorded the best growth in the stock market.
In addition, the banking group is also reaping huge benefits from the increasing appetite of inexperienced retail investors (F0 investors).
Furthermore, a number of Vietnamese banks have accelerated their initial public offering process or switched exchanges to tap into larger pools of public funds.
According to Vietnam Report, for listed banks to move more from the UPCoM to the Hanoi Stock Exchange or the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, they had to satisfy a wide range of rigorous criteria including transparency.
"Positive news from upbeat performance, coupled with the IPO and exchange-switching trend, are drawing investors’ interest to the banking sector,” the report explained.
