Prudential Vietnam is coming out with additional protection to safeguard protection against the coronavirus outbreak |
The novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) has spread rapidly in China with many other cases reported in many other countries, including Vietnam. On January 30, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the virus outbreak a “global health emergency”.
With a commitment to support customers against unexpected risks of life, Prudential Vietnam has launched a special healthcare programme for customers infected with the virus in Vietnam from February 6 to April 30, 2020.
The programme offers an additional cash benefit for customers based on the duration of isolated treatment in the hospital. If the duration of treatment is from three to nine days, Prudential Vietnam will offer financial support equivalent to VND10 million ($435).
If the duration of the treatment exceeds 10 days, Prudential Vietnam will provide financial support equivalent to VND20 million ($870). The programme is applicable to individual customers who are policyholders and policy beneficiaries of both basic products and attached rider(s) issued by Prudential Vietnam.
Prudential's commitment is “We DO for a wealthier and healthier Vietnam” |
This programme is specifically designed to offer extra financial protection and coverage for customers against the coronavirus. Customers infected by the virus will still be entitled to the existing benefits of their policies, including total and permanent disability benefit, critical illness benefit, hospital care benefit, and death benefit, in accordance with the policy terms and conditions.
This programme underscores Prudential Vietnam’s focus to address the healthcare needs of Vietnamese people and reinforces its “we DO for a wealthier and healthier Vietnam” commitment. Clive Baker, chief executive officer of Prudential Vietnam, said, “We believe this timely and comprehensive initiative will bring our customers peace of mind when facing health challenges in the face of the novel coronavirus outbreak. This is also aligned with Prudential Vietnam’s efforts to support Vietnamese in their fight against disease as well as their desire to lead a healthier life.”
