The AEO is a designation granted by customs authorities to economic operators established within the customs territory of the European Union. AEOs are entities that play a role in the international supply chain, engage in Customs-related activities, and adhere to specific security and compliance standards.

As an AEO, Piaggio Vietnam has gained access to streamlined customs simplifications. This status promotes the facilitation of legitimate trade, enhances security within the international supply chain, reduces operational costs, and boosts overall security measures.

In 2023, Piaggio Vietnam underwent comprehensive evaluation regarding custom compliance standards holistically covering production processes, logistics supply chain and facilities audit. These inspections included examinations by the Vinh Phuc Customs Branch and post-customs clearance inspection over a period of five years.

The outcomes of these evaluations have served as the foundation for validating Piaggio Vietnam's business integrity in accordance with customs regulations governing the assessment of Priority Enterprises, recognised as AOE by the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

“The AEO designation is solid evidence of Piaggio Vietnam strong compliance and discipline practices in accordance with Vietnamese regulations in general and Custom requirements in particular. Above all, this achievement is a consolidated result of the dedication and collaborative efforts of our exceptional team and will altogether motivate us to excel further result,” said Gianluca Fiume, general director of Piaggio Vietnam, president of Piaggio Asia Pacific.
