Teams took to the water in kayaks and soaked in the magnificent surroundings as they collected litter from the water and beaches of this World Wonder site.
“This is the first time we have joined a responsible project of this kind in Vietnam. We highly appreciate the meaningful and practical ideals of the Paradise team and will continue to support environmental protection,” said Han Ki Doo, CEO of Hotel n Air.
Set up by a team of tourism professionals operating in the Halong Bay area and supported practically by businesses including Paradise Cruises and Suites, Green Halong is well-known as the first local NGO dedicated to the environmental upkeep and conservation of Halong Bay. Its mission is to guarantee the long-term future of Halong Bay as an area offering both a diverse range of experiences for tourists whilst protecting the natural environment.
With decades of experience working in Halong Bay as tourism professionals, they have seen tourism in Halong Bay bring huge benefits to Quang Ninh province from employment generation to an increased standard of living. But with this huge increase in tourist numbers, Halong Bay has become a pristine natural environment under considerable threat.
By working with the Paradise team to undertake clean up projects, the NGO firmly believes that tourism and environmental preservation can coexist in Halong Bay through sustainable tourism. The goal is for tourism to grow and flourish in the area, whilst supporting responsible management of the bay to ensure a long-term vision for this world wonder.
