The company’s investment in the new office marks a decisive step in its continued expansion to provide customers with freight forwarding solutions wherever they do business. While FedEx Trade Networks has been operating in Vietnam via a representative office since 2009, the new, wholly-owned subsidiary opened in May to better serve the business community during this time of economic progress in Vietnam.

“Vietnam is a very important market for FedEx Trade Networks,” Udo Lange, executive vice president and COO of FedEx Trade Networks, said. “The previous success of our representative office illustrated the need and opportunity in Vietnam, and we expect continued growth with our Ho Chi Minh City location providing solutions to help simplify international shipping for companies doing business in Vietnam.”

The Asian Development Bank is predicting 6.2 per cent economic growth in 2017 for Vietnam, aided in part by the growing investment from the manufacturing sector. Freight forwarding is also on the rise, expected to grow to $1.4 billion by 2019.

The expanding market and onsite support of the FedEx Trade Networks office provide tremendous opportunities for customers seeking to conduct business in Vietnam and throughout the Asia-Pacific.

FedEx Trade Networks’ network of worldwide locations and alliances enables it to help customers of all sizes build solutions to fit their shipping needs, specialising in air and ocean freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and other trade facilitation services.

FedEx Trade Networks provides customers the global reach and local expertise to help optimise their supply chains—all while being backed by the reliability of the FedEx brand.
