Nestlé Vietnam awards nearly 200,000 gifts to support students nationwide

After eight years of accompanying the "Supporting for School" programme initiated by Tuoi Tre newspaper, Nestlé Vietnam has helped nearly 10,000 students, opening up new opportunities for students in remote and disadvantaged areas. In 2024, Nestlé Vietnam will donate 1,500 backpacks to new students, with a total value of VND250 million ($10,000). This aims to help young people pursue their university dreams.

Nguyen Hoang Nguyen, deputy editor-in-chief of Tuoi Tre, said, “Support for School' is one of the major scholarships under the "For Tomorrow's Development" scheme initiated by Tuoi Tre. Over the past eight years, Nestlé Vietnam has granted more than 10,000 backpacks to new students, with a total value of nearly VND2 billion ($80,000). Nestlé Vietnam has made significant contributions to diversify the programme's support and spread love among less fortunate youths in the community. We look forward to the company's support for upcoming community activities.”

In addition to the “Support for School” initiative, Nestlé Vietnam has been working with community support initiatives aimed at disadvantaged workers and students. These include the Golden Heart Charity Fund, Lao Dong (Labour) newspaper, and the Ho Chi Minh City StudentAssociation to donate nutritional products to thousands of students and workers with a total value of more than VND500 million ($20,000) at events such as Spring Bus, Entrance Exam Support, Green Summer, and Workers' Month. In July 2024, Nestlé Vietnam donated 180,000 beverage products worth more than VND2 billion ($20,000) to students in the Entrance Exam Support and Green Summer campaigns organised by the Student Association.

As the world's leading food company, Nestlé aligns its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities with production and business activities. Every year, the company cooperates with organisations to implement CSR initiatives and hands out nutritional products to policy beneficiaries and poor households nationwide.
