The GDT started to release the list of the 1,000 largest corporate taxpayers in Vietnam in 2016. Nestlé Vietnam has been ranked among the top 100 corporate taxpayers for six consecutive years. The recognition is a testament to the company's constant efforts to contribute to the state budget as well as Vietnam’s socioeconomic development.
In addition, Nestlé Vietnam was also awarded certificates of merit by tax departments and local authorities in the localities where it operates. The certificates indicate that the company has fulfilled its tax obligations and contributed to social security in the localities.
On November 8, Nestlé Vietnam was awarded the certificate of merit by the Dong Nai Tax Department at a conference to honour the top taxpayers in 2020-2021.
Speaking at the conference, Nguyen Toan Thang, deputy director of Dong Nai Tax Department said, "The COVID-19 outbreak affected socioeconomic activities in the 2020–2021 period and many businesses suffered from financial difficulties, with some even failing to maintain business continuity. In this context, the Dong Nai Tax Department has launched some initiatives to help businesses overcome their obstacles. As a result, we have exceeded the estimates in collecting the state budget revenue for the 2020-2021 period."
Previously, Nestlé Vietnam received certificates of merit from both Dong Nai People's Committee and Hung Yen People's Committee for its excellent achievements in complying with tax laws. The company scooped up certificates of merit for businesses with significant contributions to the local socioeconomic development.
The company was also granted certificates of merit for its outstanding contributions to pandemic prevention and control activities.
Speaking about the achievements, Katrina Rennie, CFO of Nestlé Vietnam said, "At Nestlé Vietnam, integrity and compliance to Vietnamese Law sits at the core of our business principles, especially compliance to tax regulations. The fulfilment of our obligation to the state budget as well as our contribution to the communities where we operate demonstrates Nestlé's spirit and responsibility as a global company. Nestlé Vietnam remains committed to long-term investment and sustainable development in Vietnam and values the strong support of central and local authorities."
