Khuat Quang Hung, director for foreign affairs at Nestlé Vietnam, receiving the plaque for the Top 10 Sustainable Businesses 2019 |
The list of 100 Sustainable Businesses operating in Vietnam was honoured at a ceremony in Hanoi on November 26, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha.
For the second year in a row, Nestlé Vietnam was named as one of the Top 10 Sustainable Businesses for its significant contributions to the sustainable development of the country.
The 100 companies were selected from more than 500 companies in the areas of production, trade, and services based on the Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) developed by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).
To remain one of the ten most sustainable companies, Nestlé Vietnam had to keep ahead of 500 competitors as well as match the 98 criteria of the Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI), which served as the scorecard of sustainable corporate development and is updated annually by the VCCI experts and members, government authorities, local and international organisations, and independent experts. The index spans across sustainability indicators in the areas of economy, environment, and society, and are widely acknowledged as a benchmark for evaluating and ranking Vietnam’s sustainable businesses.
