The Mat Ngot Library project for children in mountainous areas – the champion of the 2021 INSEE Prize – was started at Phuoc Tan A Primary School in Ninh Thuan province with the participation of INSEE Vietnam, representatives of the local authorities, and the school's leaders.

The groundbreaking ceremony of Mat Ngot was attended by INSEE Vietnam Co., representatives of the Economic Department of Bac Ai District, representatives of the authorities of Phuoc Tan Commune, the Board of Directors of Phuoc Tan A Primary School, and a group of students – the owners of the Mat Ngot Library for children in mountainous areas.

This library is inspired by a Jewish way of teaching young children to be more interested in reading by dripping honey onto books, thus drawing their attention to discovering the vast treasure of knowledge.

The project was built by a group of students from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam National University and has won the Championship Award of the 2021 INSEE Prize.

The construction is expected to bring a safe and sustainable playing and learning space for pupils in mountainous areas, partly contributing to the goal of developing educational facilities and improving the well-being of the community.
