Around 500 delegates will join the event, including leaders from diverse government agencies, provinces, and municipalities in the delta as well as Ho Chi Minh City, besides economic experts, business associations inside and outside the province, business executives, and foreign partners.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will chair the conference.
On the occasion, An Giang will approve the investment proposals of 23 projects across the five sectors of agriculture, trade-services-tourism, industry, construction, and urban development valued at more than VND27 trillion ($1.17 billion) in total committed capital.
Seven projects worth more than VND101 trillion ($4.4 billion) are expected to receive investment certificates. Also, the best-performing businesses in the province will receive badges “for the cause of An Giang’s construction and development” to reward their outstanding contributions to the province’s development.
According to Pham Thanh Nhon, deputy director of the An Giang Department of Planning and Investment, the province’s potential and advantages, as well as an investment wish-list and associated investment incentive policies will be fully presented at the conference, hoping to attract more leading businesses to set up shop in the province to avail themselves of the abundant local potential, particularly in agriculture and tourism to promote sustainable development.
The event is also expected to play a part in successfully implementing An Giang’s socioeconomic development targets set in the Resolution of the tenth Provincial Party Committee Conference’s 2015-2020 tenure. |

Le Van Nung, Deputy Chairman of the An Giang People’s Committee, said, “This investment promotion conference will be like a host serving good dishes to entertain guests, and I do expect the media will contribute to bringing more guests to the province.”
Nung also said he hopes media agencies will do their utmost to deliver precise and multi-angle information about the province to businesses, investors, and authorised management bodies.
He added that besides its many advantages, An Giang like many other localities faces certain difficulties in development, such as a lack of cleared land bank and restrictions in transport infrastructure. Provincial leaders, therefore, are committed to doing their best to usher An Giang onto a sustainable development path.
