James Dong, CEO of Lazada Vietnam and Thailand, said, “We developed the touch-free delivery solution to contine to keep our customers, partners, and employees safe and healthy. Especially during this period, physical distancing is one of the key ways to help contain the COVID-19 pandemic, and we want to do our part. Even as we expand our supply sources to ensure consumers can get their daily essentials while shopping safely from home, we want to ensure that the delivery process is also safe and seamless for everyone. This touch-free solution provides a holistic experience for many who are now staying and working from home.”
The touch-free delivery solution comprises of three simple steps.
Step 1: Purchase order and online payment
Customers can choose to pay via Credit/Debit Card or other digital payment options to minimise the risk of exposure through cash.
Step 2: Preparing the goods and delivery
Lazada's logistics staff undergo daily temperature checks and a stringent sanitisation process, including wearing face maks, disinfecting their hands, and going through a disinfection room before entering and leaving the warehouse and sortation center.
The delivery staff are also required to have their body temperature checked on a daily basis, wear face masks, and sanitise their hands, as well as to regularly clean their bikes and delivery vehicles.
When the customer arrives, the delivery staff will maintain safe distance of a minimum two metres from the customer |
Step 3: Delivery
All customers with pre-paid orders via card or other digital payment options in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will receive touch-free delivery. In which, during the delivery process, Lazada’s rider will maintain a safe distance from the customer, a minimum of two meters. The customer will use their pen to sign for the package, and the delivery staff will take a photo of the signed package to confirm the delivery.
Additionally, Lazada shoppers can choose to pick up goods at 300 collection points in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, which are located in convenience stores, or experience fully automated technology with iLogic SmartBox. At these stations, all a buyer needs to do is scan the QR code (received by email) or input their phone number with the OTP (received by text message) to receive their parcel. As of now, there are 20 activated smart lockers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, most of which are located at main shopping malls, big apartments, and universities.
