The world has around 50 megacities now. Megacities and rapid urbanisation are putting pressure on infrastructure, housing, the services sector, and the environment to meet the living requirements of current and future generations. These cities have been experiencing large-scale change regarding innovative building solutions, adjusting living space and infrastructure to accommodate changes in the economy, environment, technology, society, and culture.
How can innovative building solutions during this transformation not only bring convenience but also sustainability and humanity, to create cities that are worth living for everybody?
Large Infrastructure Project Conference 2019: Rethinking Construction, which will be held on November 22 at Landmark 81, Ho Chi Minh City, will endeavour to answer some of these questions.
For the second time, this Large Infrastructure Project Conference is organised by INSEE Vietnam (an affiliate of Jardines), in partnership with SIKA and DOKA and in association with the Vietnam Institute of Building Materials, the Vietnam Green Building Council, the British Business Association, and the Hong Kong Business Association.
Large Infrastructure Project Conference 2019 is a place where leaders connect, exchange, and discuss trends, opportunities, as well as challenges in the construction industry. Apart from presentation topics and insightful discussions, INSEE Vietnam also aims to build a community of leading building material suppliers and construction companies, joining hands to develop infrastructure and construction as well as improve city planning while enhancing living quality.
The conference’s theme this year is “Rethinking construction” which aims to introduce the latest innovations and technologies of leading companies in the world to overcome the barriers of traditional construction methods, save resources, and move towards sustainable development. The highlights of this year include: "Strategy for development and management of smart cities in Vietnam", "The future of concrete for sustainable cities", "Digital building twins – next step of BIM", "Offshore wind energy: technology solutions and supply chain opportunities", "Innovation in concrete – 3D printing", "Formwork innovation and digital solutions for upbeat construction".
