Huawei registers rise in first half revenue

Chinese tech giant Huawei announced its business results for the first half of 2023 on August 11, showing a slight increase in revenue.

Huawei’s overall performance was in line with forecasts made during the period. It generated almost $43 billion in revenue, with an on-year increase of 3.1 per cent and a net profit margin of 15 per cent.

Among the company’s business lines, the ICT infrastructure business contributed $23.1 billion, with its consumer, cloud, digital power, and intelligent automotive solution businesses adding $14.3 billion, $3.3 billion, $3.3 billion, and $137.8 million respectively.

Sabrina Meng, Huawei's rotating chairwoman said, “Huawei has been investing heavily in foundational technologies to harness trends in digitalisation, intelligence, and decarbonisation, focusing on creating value for our customers and partners.”

"In the first half of 2023, our ICT infrastructure business remained solid, and our consumer business achieved growth. Our digital power and cloud businesses both showed strong performance, and our new components for intelligent connected vehicles continued to gain competitiveness."

Founded in 1987, Huawei is a global provider of ICT infrastructure and smart devices. It has 207,000 employees and operates in over 170 countries and regions, serving more than 3 billion people around the world.
