Hanoi People's Committee has just issued Official Dispatch No.14/CD-CTUBND on measures to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic. The dispatch says food and beverage (F&B) facilities can only allow takeaways while hair salons and beauty parlors will have to temporarily shut down again. All entertainment activities will have to be ceased, while physical exercise and large gatherings in parks, gardens, and public locations will also be banned.

The city has so far detected 18 new coronavirus infection cases after screening people returning from Ho Chi Minh City between July 10 and 11. Thus, Hanoi requested all people returning to the city from other localities, especially Ho Chi Minh City, to submit medical declarations.

Hanoi allowed restaurants, hair salons, and beauy parlors to reopen from June 22 while wine shops, pubs, beer shops, and draft beer shops were allowed to sell takeaways. On June 26, golf courses were also reopened and outdoor physical exercise was permitted. However, the city has to tighten its social distancing measures as it is facing a potential resurgence of the coronavirus pandemic.

From 00:00 July 13, the city requested those who returned from pandemic regions to self quarantine at home for 14 days. Those returning from Ho Chi Minh City must have a negative COVID-19 test for up to three days before arrival.

Police forces are setting up checkpoints at main roads, gateways, coach stations, ports, and others to monitor those travelling into the city. Hanoi will also check and compare test results, proactively screen all people returning from other provinces and cities to avoid the spread of pandemic.
