Hanoi has achieved a significant milestone in its digital transformation journey by integrating the VNeID electronic identification account into the iHanoi digital citizen application.

At a conference on November 22, held to discuss key national digital transformation tasks for 2022-2025 with a vision towards 2030, Major General Nguyen Hong Ky, deputy director of Hanoi Public Security, described the integration as a groundbreaking development. Effective from November 11, this advancement allows citizens to use their VNeID accounts to log in to iHanoi without the need to create a separate account.

The integration delivers notable benefits, enabling citizens to use a single account for a range of public services, including iHanoi and the Hanoi Public Service Portal. This streamlining of access saves time and simplifies processes by synchronising personal information from VNeID. Users no longer need to repeatedly verify details such as ID card numbers, names, dates of birth, and gender when accessing iHanoi.

Since its official launch in late June, iHanoi has demonstrated its potential as an effective digital tool. As of October 31, the application had registered over 1 million users, according to Cu Ngoc Trang, director of the Hanoi Public Administration Service Centre.

In just four months, more than 17,000 public complaints and suggestions from citizens and businesses were submitted through the platform, with an impressive 84.3 per cent resolved. User satisfaction has also been strong, with 55 per cent of feedback indicating positive experiences. These metrics reflect Hanoi’s commitment to prioritising citizens and businesses in its services, in alignment with the government’s Project 06, which focuses on developing digital citizen utilities.

iHanoi offers an array of essential features across three main areas: transport, education, and information and communication.

In the transport sector, iHanoi facilitates bus pass registration, online payments, and home delivery. Users can renew monthly bus passes, track the status of applications, request card re-issuance, and book tickets for airport buses with detailed route information.

In education, the platform supports high school graduation exam result inquiries for 2024 and offers tools for primary school admissions. These tools include information on regulations, application details, and online registration options, simplifying the process for parents.

For information and communication, iHanoi delivers timely news and updates, serving as an effective communication channel between citizens and government authorities.

The integration of VNeID into iHanoi enhances user experience and fosters a stronger connection between the government and its citizens

By leveraging the iHanoi platform, the city aims to create better conditions for citizens and businesses to engage with public services while encouraging greater participation in the national digital transformation drive.

The integration of VNeID into iHanoi represents a significant step in Hanoi’s broader strategy to advance digital transformation. It underscores the city’s dedication to leveraging cutting-edge technology to deliver efficient, secure, and citizen-centric services, solidifying its position as a leader in the country's digital future.
