Viec Lam Tot is the first job posting platform for blue-collar workers in Vietnam

As one of Vietnam's first job posting platforms specialised in blue-collar labour, Viec Lam Tot not only helps solve the current labour shortage but also aims to solve the supply-demand problem for blue-collar labour in the long run.

In particular, the Vietnamese labour market was severely affected by the COVID-19 epidemic in the third quarter of this year. According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, the number of underemployed people of working age in the third quarter of 2021 exceeded 1.8 million, which was the highest number recorded in the past 10 years. Meanwhile, data by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs reveals that more than 17.8 per cent of enterprises are facing labour shortages.

Vietnam's government hopes to resolve a COVID-19-related labour shortage by the end of this year or early in 2022, according to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, as it tries to recover from the sharpest quarterly decline on record. Businesses in Vietnam are struggling to reopen due to a labour shortage following the unprecedented mass exodus of hundreds of thousands of workers from industrial hubs in October after COVID-19 restrictions were released.

With economic development focusing on industry and services, along with the shift in labour structure, it is predicted that the blue-collar labour force in Vietnam will reach 43 million people by 2025. Thus, Viec Lam Tot is developed to connect and meet the job demands for more than 40 million blue-collar workers in the period of 2021-2025, which is expected to solve the riddle of the labour force for the Vietnamese economy.

Nguyen Trong Tan, CEO of Cho Tot said, "The launch of the Viec Lam Tot platform, which will support 40 million blue-collar workers in finding employment, will enable us to improve the lives of Vietnamese workers by assisting them to find more and better job opportunities with a one-touch application that takes less than a minute. Viec Lam Tot aims to support blue-collar workers in improving professional skills, getting better jobs, thereby improving income and the quality of life."

The job posting platform features 24 blue-collar occupations including sales, shipper, security guard, kitchen assistant, and driver. Job seekers can apply for a job by directly contacting the recruiter via phone call, text message, or creating a brief application within five steps.
