Amid the struggles that the pandemic is causing globally, Vietnam’s tourism sector is beginning to rejoice, inviting locals and the remaining foreigners to visit some of the most stunning locations such as Quang Binh. The central province is currently dramatically slashing prices, making these times some of the best for travelling in Vietnam.

Experience Quang Binh for next to nothing

Quang Binh’s new tourism promotion programme, lasting until December, features an abundance of products and services with lucrative incentives, promising to bring diverse and unforgettable memories to its visitors.

The province’s promotion package covers several exciting offers, including everything a soon-to-be-reborn tourism industry could wish for. As such, the package includes excursions, accommodation, food and beverages, and transportation.

A total of around 300 businesses in- and outside the province are participating in the programme to ramp up Quang Binh’s charm in the eyes of visitors and increase the exposure of the province’s diverse, attractive tourism products. All engaging businesses are offering attractive price discounts while ensuring the highest quality standards.

One such offer that cannot be missed is the famous Son Doong Cave in the heart of the central province. As part of the province’s promotion campaign, the Quang Binh People’s Council decided to slash entrance and transportation fees by a stunning 50 per cent, reducing the fee for the world’s largest natural cave to a mere VND4.4 million ($190).

In addition, visitors to Phong Nha Cave can enjoy an entrance fee of just VND75,000 ($3.20) while rates for Tien Son Cave and Thien Duong Cave are down to VND40,000 ($1.70) and VND125,000 ($5.40), respectively.

Meanwhile, the cost for other tours has also been reduced by 50 per cent, including the route through the Rao Thuong - En caves – a natural tourist attraction in Phong Nha Ke Bang that is extremely famous for its primaeval forest with thousands of swallows, swirling green streams, and unforgettable jungle nights. Tours to this destination are now offered at VND240,000 ($10.50) for four days and three nights.

Furthermore, many hotels also got on the bandwagon and currently offer irresistible discounts of up to 30 per cent for room rates and other services. As if that would not be enough already, visitors to Quang Binh can enjoy many attractive price slashes at most of the local restaurants, bars, and cafes.

Along with these tangible efforts, Quang Binh is proactively promoting itself at several national events, such as the Hanoi Investment Promotion Festival in June, the Vietnam International Travel Mart Hanoi slated to be held from July 29 to August 1, and a chain of other tourism events held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam General Administration of Tourism.

Quang Binh Province’s Department of Tourism said that since the beginning of the year due to the effects of the pandemic, the number of tourists to the locality dropped sharply but it has begun to recover since social distancing measures were eased and the province opened its doors to welcome visitors back.

Since there are no foreign tourists currently allowed to enter the country, Quang Binh’s authorities have urged local tourism businesses to adjust their service fees with more reasonable prices to meet the demands of domestic tourists.

In the first six months of the year, the province hailed an estimated 905,000 visitors, a number which is expected to soar by around 80 per cent by the middle of this month.
