Also involved were Chamnan Wangakkarangkul, C.P. Vietnam Corporation (CPV) vice chairman cum president of the CPV Sustainable Sourcing Committee; Tran Quang Khanh, chief technology officer of SGS Vietnam; and numerous suppliers and leaders of CPV.
The conference aimed to develop a sustainable husbandry sector and a chance for CPV and its suppliers to share new concepts and experiences to improve the performance of their collaboration and business outcomes towards sustainable development and environmental protection.
Wangakkarangkul said, “Suppliers are the key part for our supply chains’ success and growth. Thereby, we believe that long-term sustainable success should be based on social and environmental responsibilities through cooperation between CPV and its suppliers. The conference is an important development to boost the relationship as well as create more opportunities for suppliers and entire chains.”
In 2020, COVID-19 hit almost every global territory, while African swine fever and climate change caused much damage and affected food security, economies, societies, and the environment. Risks remain for businesses, so adaptation and change to cope with troubles are necessary for them to develop.
At the conference, suppliers received useful information on legal provisions, policies, as well as occupational health and safety regulations.
“Sharing and connecting have created numerous chances for both suppliers and the value chain to collaborate and grow. That is why the conference is held annually for discussing and sharing experiences, and we hope that the cooperation of CPV and its suppliers will be enhanced so that we all can be successful in the future,” the CPV representative said.
