Last week the Outstanding Vietnamese Farmers Honouring and Awarding Ceremony took place at the Ministry of Defence in Hanoi to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Vietnam Farmers Union.
At the ceremony, 63 outstanding Vietnamese farmers were honoured, while 27 outstanding agricultural businesses received the “Enterprises accompanying farmers” award. C.P. Vietnam was one of those honoured to win the award.
During 28 years of building and growing up along with Vietnam’s agriculture, C.P. Vietnam and farmers have been associated with livestock in over 3,000 farms across the country in a model of outsourcing, creating jobs for over 400,000 local farmers. The modern farming model under the support of C.P. Vietnam has already changed husbandry behaviours, which used to be small-scaled, into a modern agriculture sector.

Agriculture includes a lot of risks caused by epidemics and other disasters, with the outbreak of African swine fever on livestock and this year’s coronavirus pandemic taking a toll. Amidst this, C.P. Vietnam has supported and accompanied farmers to overcome these problems as well as “pricing storms”, enabling them to promote all resources to succeed.
C.P. Vietnam has already exercised technology transfer of closed and high-productivity husbandry to Vietnamese farmers in the outsourcing model, helping them to manage farms and become a part of the “Feed-Farm-Food” chain of the corporation.
Nguyen Van Chien, vice president of C.P. Vietnam, received the award on behalf of the corporation. He said, “This is recognition of our achievements for the business in the agriculture industry. We pledge to accompany Vietnamese farmers for more modern and sustainable agriculture development.”
Along with the great achievements in improving animal breeding and enhancing product quality to provide for farmers nationwide, C.P. Vietnam also organises training courses for engineers on customer farms, technical exchange classes, and guiding farmers on breeding methods. “Anywhere farmers need us, C.P. is willing to guide and contribute to developing their farms,” a group representative confirmed.
With fast economic growth over three decades, the 27 agricultural businesses and 63 local farmers honoured at the awards are seen as pioneers contributing to building a modern country and modern agriculture, equivalent to the development of other countries.
