Coteccons Construction JSC has worked to set up sustainable working conditions for thousands of workers by kicking off a project for the festive season.

The “Building Tet 2023” initiative, implemented by Coteccons and Dan Tri Newspaper, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, will donate 12,000 Lunar New Year gift sets to workers of 60 Coteccons construction sites nationwide.

The gesture will take place across January 4-16, right before the festive break begins.

Each gift set worth VND300,000 ($12.50) will help construction workers ease the burden of shopping for Lunar New Year and ensure they enjoy a warm and happy holiday.

The programme also aims to highlight Coteccons’ deep gratitude to construction workers for their contribution to completing high-quality housing projects on schedule.

Pham Quan Luc, deputy general director of Coteccons, said that identifying construction workers as a crucial cog in of Coteccons’ operations and development strategy, the firm launched the Lunar New Year programme to present gifts to thank them for their efforts and contribution to the success of each project.

Apart from handing over gifts to workers, Coteccons will also hold various activities such as offering free haircuts at construction sites and handing out free coach tickets.

“With the contribution of 2,000 engineers and employees, and receiving the companionship of 500 partners and customers, 12,000 sets of Lunar New Year products will bring a warmer holiday for workers. The project will be implemented synchronously in the last working days on the construction site to fulfill the long-awaited festive season for workers when they visit home," Luc said.

Vietnam's construction industry is heavily dependent on a workforce with a high level of health, and so Coteccons has been striving to improve its working environment to provide a stable income, improve skills, and treat construction workers fairly and respectfully.
