Construction of VSIP Ha Tinh kicks off

The event was organised by Ha Tinh People’s Committee and Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park and Township Development JSC (VSIP JSC).

With a total investment of VND1.55 trillion ($60.8 million), the project covers an area of 190.41 hectares in Thach Lien and Viet Tien communes.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vo Trong Hai, Chairman of Ha Tinh People's Committee, said, "This project marks a breakthrough for the province in luring investment and developing industries in line with green growth and sustainable development goals. It is expected to create employment and improve social security, transforming Ha Tinh to be on par with other localities in the coastal north-central and south-central regions."

Tan Cheng Guan, executive vice president of Sembcorp Industries Group, said, "The development of VSIP is testament to the strong and lasting friendship between Vietnam and Singapore. Since the establishment of the first industrial park in Binh Duong province in 1996, VSIP has successfully replicated the township and industrial park model across 13 localities in Vietnam. The groundbreaking ceremony of VSIP Ha Tinh marks a new milestone in our development."

"We are excited that Ha Tinh's master plan outlines a goal to advance the province's development towards 2030 with a vision to 2050. Ha Tinh aims to become a growth driver and economic pillar of the region, and we believe VSIP Ha Tinh can be a catalyst for the province to achieve these goals," he added.

Also at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha said, "This event is significant in expediting the industrialisation and urbanisation process, transforming Ha Tinh into a modern, sustainable industrial province in the coastal north-central and south-central regions. The event also reflects the effective and enduring cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore over the past 50 years."

"VSIP Ha Tinh can set an example as a green, smart, and modern industrial park. Investors will prioritise training, recruiting on-site workers, and arranging resettlement in township areas. The success of investors is the success of the state, bringing jobs, livelihoods, and high-quality social services to the local people," the deputy prime minister noted.

VSIP Ha Tinh is expected to attract domestic and foreign investors in fields such as electronics, semiconductors, precision mechanics, energy, electric vehicle batteries, metals, auto parts, food processing, logistics services, and ready-built factories. The project will create more than 30,000 jobs, creating momentum for the development and economic restructuring of the province.
