Trinh Hang, Director of the Department of Tourism of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, said that the province is concentrating resources on tourism development in the south-eastern coastal area and Con Dao, strengthening regional links and completing seaport infrastructure and traffic connections to prepare for a period of rapid growth in passenger numbers.

In mid-June, the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau motorway was started to connect the coastal urban chains. This route, together with the Long Thanh airport project, is expected to help Ba Ria-Vung Tau grow its tourism more quickly, especially in terms of international visitors.

On July 20, Con Dao passenger port was also inaugurated, making travelling from the mainland to Con Dao more convenient.

Con Dao is currently the foremost tourist destination in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, and is planned to become a national tourist area with outstanding ecotourism products and high-class resorts.

In the first half of this year, Con Dao welcomed over 385,000 visitors, an increase of 45 per cent over the same period in 2022.

At a meeting with a representative of the investor – Nakayoshi Ba Ria-Vung Tau Co., Ltd. – two months ago, Chairman of the People's Committee Nguyen Van Tho tasked the relevant departments with providing Nakayoshi with the necessary information, surveying the project location, and assisting in the completion of the required procedures.

Although it has not developed its own preferential policy, the locality is still an attractive investment destination for many domestic and foreign investors.

Chairman Tho stated, "This success comes from the province's positive moves to support investors with incentives prescribed by the government, including public investment, site clearance, administrative procedures, training, and high-quality labour."
