Singapore - The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup kicked off on December 5 with an impressive opening ceremony with the attendance of FIFA President Gianni Infantino, which shows the Southeast Asian tournament has received more attention from the world.

After the opening ceremony was the match between Singapore and Myanmar.

The host team of Singapore entered the game excitedly and created many situations to threat the opponents' net. They got the first goal in the 34th minute by Safuwan, followed by a double from Ikhsan Fandi in the 39th and 45th minute, and ended the match thumping Myanmar 3-0.

Earlier, the Thai team had to work very hard to defeat a weaker opponent, Timo Leste in Group A. The absence of key players like Chanathip and Theerathon made Thailand appear to be in a deadlock, despite controlling the game.

In the second half, the deadlock was eased, when Pathompon Charoenrattanapirom scored the first goal. An another goal at the end of the match from Supachok Sarachat completed the 2-0 win for Thailand. Although they have three points but it is clear that Thailand’s players need a lot of improvement if they want to have good results in this year’s tournament.
