The recognition, announced last month at the CSI 100 Awards 2023, organised by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, marked the first time the company has won such a title in its very first year of participation.

Acecook Vietnam has been building its sustainable development based on three core values. From the business philosophy of its parent group, Acecook Vietnam has created its core values specifically with three pillars: happiness for consumers, happiness for employees, and happiness for society.

As demonstrated through the accolade, the company has been active in contributing to society with many charity and environmental activities to contribute to a better Vietnamese society.

These include partnering with the Children’s Fund to help improve nutrition for disadvantaged children in mountainous areas; propagating to raise awareness about preventing natural disasters and adhering to traffic rules; granting scholarships for poor students; and supporting Vietnamese football, among many more schemes.

To continue its effort towards sustainable development, Acecook Vietnam aims to carry out many activities to contribute to the environment, such as switching products from plastic to paper, using bio-plastic forks, and researching eco-friendly packaging materials.

The company is gradually limiting its use of fossil fuels and replacing them with clean energy sources such as solar energy and clean-burning gas. This contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and saving energy, thus contributing to protecting the environmental and combating climate change.

The sustainable enterprise award is a title to honour pioneering businesses that have contributed to the sustainable development of the Vietnamese business community and society. It also illustrates the recognition of the government, ministries, agencies, and the community for such businesses.

Last year marked 30 years of Japan’s Acecook in the Vietnamese market. In that time, Acecook Vietnam has become a top name in the local instant noodle industry. The combination of Japanese technology and Vietnamese flavours has created Acecook brands such as Hao Hao noodles, Hang Nga vermicelli, and Nhip Song noodles.

Acecook currently owns 11 factories and six branches throughout Vietnam. Each factory cost tens of millions of US dollars and are equipped with modern imported machinery. Production lines boast an automation rate of more than 90 per cent, and an average productivity of about 600 packages of noodles per minute on each line.

According to Kajiwara Junichi, chairman of the board at Acecook Vietnam, Vietnam has a dynamic economy and huge development potential.

“Economic cooperation is central to promoting Vietnam-Japan relations, so Japanese businesses like ours are greatly supported. Japan has the strength of the world’s leading advanced technology, while Vietnam’s economy is growing rapidly, with an abundance of young human resources and an open economic policy,” Junichi said.

“We are aiming to perfect the supply chain, apply new production technologies to improve production capacity, constantly improve product benefits, and optimise consumer experience,” he added.

In terms of governance, the company is oriented towards sustainable development, contributing to improving the living environment and implementing activities to reduce plastic waste in production, while carrying out communication activities on recycling plastic products and activities to raise community nutritional awareness to have a healthier, more balanced lifestyle, Junichi said.
