The conference on the associationof tourism development between Ho Chi Minh City and eight expanded northwestern provinces took place in Viet Tri, Phu Tho province with the participation of many government representatives, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the General Department of Tourism, provinces, cities, the tourism industry, travel, and aviation businesses last weekend.

The purpose of regional tourism linkage activities is to promote tourism connectivity between Ho Chi Minh City and the central and northern provinces, attracting tourists and returning investment activities to localities, as well as contributing to the recovery of tourism and local economy. At the same time, to activities will promote Vietnam's image as a safe destination to international friends, ready to welcome visitors back as soon as the pandemic is under control.

Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department, said that investment in product, promotion, human resources development, and calling for investment are key issues implemented through joint activities.

Thereby, the provinces and cities will exchange information to build new directions in local tourism development, increase the number of tourists, and increase their duration of stay.

According to her, the signing of tourism development cooperation agreements between Ho Chi Minh City and regions marks a new development step in the cooperative relations between localities, the state management agency, tourism associations, and businesses.

Besides the eight northwest provinces including Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Son La, and Yen Bai, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will deploy activities to link sustainable tourism development with the north-eastern provinces and the key central economic region at many conferences and forums from now to the end of November 2020.

As a representative of the Vietnamese airline participating in the event, VietJet committed to accompany the provinces and cities to develop tourism links, build promotions, stimulate demand, and create recovery momentum for the travel and aviation industry with 250 flights per day.

Do Xuan Quang, VietJet deputy general director, together with the Tourism Association of Ho Chi Minh City and the eight northwestern provinces signed an MoU to implement more cohesive activities on the basis of promoting tourism and aviation activities, to bring customers the best products and services to ensure pandemic prevention.
