Vingroup wants to develop 1,100 hectare Vinpearl Safari project in Halong |
Covering an area of 1,135 hectares in Dong Lam commune of Halong City, almost all of area of Vinpearl Safari is special-use forest under the Ky Thuong – Dong Son nature conservation area.
Responding the proposal of Vingroup, chairman of Quang Ninh People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thang said that this nature conservation and ecotourism area is suitable with the tourist developing planning of the province as well as Halong city in particular.
Previously, Vingroup has officially opened the Vinpearl Safari wildlife conservation park on Phu Quoc Island off the coast of the Mekong Delta’s Kien Giang province. The opening was part of activities held to celebrate the 2016 National Tourism Year-Phu Quoc-Mekong Delta, hosted by Kien Giang province.
Vinpearl Safari in Phu Quoc, the first-ever safari park in Vietnam, covers nearly 500 ha in total, with the first phase of 380 ha consisting of a safari park and an open zoo more than 2,000 animals from biogeographic regions of the world.
It also includes the largest veterinary hospital in Southeast Asia, staffed by leading veterinary experts and providing wildlife care from South Africa, Australia, and India. Vingroup targets to turn the park into the second largest zoo in the world, creating the best space possible for the animals as well as improving awareness about wildlife conservation and helping to develop nature tourism on the island.
