'Vietnamese Beauty' on TikTok LIVE aims to boost cultural tourism

The annual tourism promotion event is held via an interactive livestream on the TikTok platform. This year’s offering was launched on April 17 and aims to go beyond livestreaming by honouring the cultural values and heritage of Vietnam by exploring its ancient capitals, inspiring participants to create new and unique content.

By combining modern technology with meaningful content, this year's Vietnamese Beauty will provide an opportunity for everyone, especially the younger generation, to gain an in-depth understanding of the country's traditional cultural values.

There will be online events from May 12 to 18 for content creators to share their knowledge and viewpoints on Vietnam’s heritage, with several content creators to be chosen as guests for offline events the following month.

From June 1-10, a series of practical activities will be organised in Hanoi, Phu Tho, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, and Hue.

Through the interactive livestream, content creators can bring the beauty of heritage alive for the younger generation; at the same time, they will spread Vietnamese cultural values on the digital platform in a vivid, modern, and easily accessible way.

Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, deputy director of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund, stated that with the development of technology and online streaming platforms like TikTok Live, bringing cultural heritage closer to everyone has become more feasible and opened up many new opportunities for exploration, learning, and experiences.

"Each smartphone is not just a tool for entertainment, it is also a window to the world. We can access and truly experience Vietnam's cultural heritage, while creating a strong bridge to maintain and spread precious cultural values," said Huong.

Nguyen Lam Thanh, representative of TikTok Vietnam said, "We believe that technology can help renew the perception of heritage, making cultural values that seem distant more relevant to the younger generation. TikTok LIVE is the bridge connecting emotions, allowing viewers not only to see but truly touch the heritage."

Participants will also have the opportunity to explore prominent heritage sites in several provinces and cities practically through augmented reality, livestreaming, and other technological methods.
