The competition is organised under four categories: Film and Integrated, Digital, Marketers, and PR. Participants will be divided into two Leagues: Industry Practitioner League and Student League.

The Gold and Silver winners of the Industry Practitioner League will represent Vietnam at the two largest creative festivals in the world, Young Lions at Cannes Lions (France) and Young Spikes at Spikes Asia (Singapore).

The winners of the Students League will receive tickets to Spikes Asia (Singapore) as delegates to visit and participate in all activities, a valuable opportunity to approach the International marketing and communications industry.

Since 2019, after merging with Vietnam Young Spikes, Vietnam Young Lions has become the largest playground in the marketing and communications industry, with a mission to find young talents to represent Vietnam to compete at Young Lions, within the framework of Cannes Lions Festival – the Oscar of the marketing and communications industry, and at Young Spikes within the framework of Spikes Asia – the Asia-Pacific Creative Festival.

The competition is open for registration from January 2, 2020 to March 27, 2020 here.

"Creativity for a Better Vietnam" is about the aspiration to elevate Vietnam, bringing a happy life to Vietnamese people, and encouraging the young generation to speak up to create positive changes.

Vietnam Young Lions 2020 will feature a series of new highlights. The total prize value amounts to VND1.2 billion ($52,000). The competition will sponsor 12 winning teams to participate and compete at Young Lions (France) and Young Spikes (Singapore).

Competition’s topics are related to emerging social issues. As the world has faced many urgent social issues such as air pollution, forest fires, or COVID-19, Vietnam Young Lions 2020 aims to find young talents with a creative spirit and community responsibility, choosing social issues as the main topic of this year.

"Creativity for a Better Vietnam" is about the aspiration to elevate Vietnam, bringing a happy life to Vietnamese people, and encouraging the young generation to speak up to create positive changes.

Depending on the competition category, each team will submit a communication brief, an integrated social media campaign, a commercial film and integrated video, or a PR strategy.

A special event to inspire Vietnam Young Lions 2020 contestants – Inspiring Day – is scheduled to take place on April 4-5, 2020.

At the event, candidates will get exposure to the experiences of winning teams from previous years, industry experts, and trainers from AIM Academy, the official representative of Cannes Lions and Spikes Asia in Vietnam. This is an opportunity for contestants to learn from winners’ experiences, be inspired by stories about marketing and communications, network with industry leaders, and enjoy an exhibition of the winning works.

Especially, for the first time, the Vietnam Young Lions Organising Committee offers an opportunity for young people who are planning to participate in the competition to see and learn from the previous winning works.

The winning works at Vietnam Young Lions 2019 and some projects from Young Lions at Cannes Lions will be posted on the AIM Academy fan page. In addition, AIM Academy also created the programme "The Treasure of Young Talent Works" which provides access to exclusive archives of Vietnam Young Lions and Vietnam Young Spikes, Young Lions, and Young Spikes in 2018-2019.

Not only that, from February 10, 2020, teams that register to participate in the Vietnam Young Lions competition will receive a reasonable registration fee during the Early Bird phase and also participate in the new weekly Wacom Giveaway, which lasts until March 9, 2020. The registration deadline will be March 27, 2020.

“Vietnam has a young and talented generation full of creativity. In recent years, we have marked Vietnam on the global map in many fields. This year's Vietnam Young Lions is a way to raise the standard for Vietnam in the marketing and communications industry as well as bring young talents to the spotlight, helping young talents to lay solid bricks in the early stages of their career, and soon approach the international standards of the marketing and communications industry,” said Pham Thi Dieu Anh, head of the Organising Committee and managing director of AIM Academy.

Nguyen Dieu Cam, managing director of Ogilvy Vietnam, Jury member in the PR category of Vietnam Young Lions 2020, sent her words of encouragement to the young talents who still hesitate to put themselves into this creative playground.

“There is a lion in each of us. It is the lion of strong spirit, hard work, bravery, ambition, and leadership. Go, young lions! Bring out the lion inside you with hard work and rigour. You have our full support,” Cam said.
