The week will showcase advanced technologies and fresh perspectives on a modern water sector, highlighting digital transformation.

The event is expected to attract approximately 200 booths and the participation of 30 international organisations, including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency, which will provide opportunities for domestic and international water sector businesses to network, share technological experiences, and foster cooperation and trade promotion.

Alongside the exhibition, Vietnam Water Week 2025 will feature four specialised workshops, including key discussions on addressing policy bottlenecks that lag behind practical needs. Additionally, a scientific workshop titled “Advanced and Efficient Water Supply and Drainage Technologies” will bring together experts, scientists, and lecturers from leading universities in the fields of water supply, drainage, and wastewater treatment.

“International organisations and units will also share experiences in applying the water supply and drainage technologies. Vietnam will look at infrastructure conditions to apply these devices and lessons learned. If infrastructure or policies are unsuitable, policymakers will develop standards to apply new technologies,” said Nguyen Ngọc Diep, chairman of the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewage Association (VWSA).

This year’s event will also see the return of the “Gender Equality in the Water Sector” workshop, aiming to promote specific solutions and actions to build gender equality in the workplace and support the activities of women leaders in the water sector.

For the first time, Vietnam Water Week 2025 will host an online exhibition alongside the in-person event in Hanoi, marking a significant step towards digitalisation in the water sector. In collaboration with AROBID, a digital exhibition and B2B e-commerce platform, the VWSA will facilitate an online exhibition to enhance flexibility, 24/7 interaction, and trade. This integration underscores a strategic digital transformation, redefining the water sector from a traditional natural resource to a valuable digital asset unbound by spatial or temporal limits.

Tran Van Chin, chairman of AROBID Technology JSC, highlighted the government’s major policies, particularly those emphasising science and technology development, digital transformation, green economy, digital economy, and e-commerce. The adoption of an e-commerce ecosystem demonstrates VWSA’s breakthrough goal of connecting water sector businesses domestically and internationally. AROBID’s platform ecosystem includes partners in banking, logistics, insurance, and finance.

“Participating businesses can engage directly at the exhibition while also interacting with suppliers on the e-commerce platform. Another advantage is that, typically, after traditional exhibitions or trade fairs, it takes considerable time for businesses to retrieve information about participants. However, with AROBID’s e-commerce platform, businesses' e-profile digital records are stored, enabling the business community to easily archive information for seamless connectivity and ongoing communication,” Chin explained.
