Dignitaries at the event included State President Tran Dai Quang and his entourage, Japanese Emperor Akihito and his Spouse and FM Taro Kono.
Since establishment of diplomatic relationship on September 21, 1973, both countries have worked together to build up the relationship of friendship, trust, mutual respect and benefits. The two countries lifted up their bilateral ties to extensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia in 2014.
Speaking at the event, Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh affirmed Japan still remains a top and long-term partner and a really close friend of Viet Nam and their bilateral cooperation is for the benefits of the two people and for peace and prosperity in the region and the world.
He expressed his belief that the bilateral relationship will enter new development stage of more effective and substantial cooperation across all fields thanks to high political trust and consensus from both sides.
Meanwhile, Japanese FM Taro Kono underlined that Viet Nam and Japan are enjoying an ever close relationship and the Viet Nam visit by Japanese Emperor Akihito and the Japan visit by State President Tran Dai Quang are among vivid examples.
Both sides have agreed to foster cooperation and exchanges in a series of areas and join hands to settle issues emerging in the region and the world.
