Vietnam Film Festival honors artists of Vietnamese Cinema

The judges selected the best films, individuals in all genres of films to award the golden lotus prize and the silver lotus prize during three working days from October 14-16 according to theme of the organizers ‘Vietnam’s Cinematography: Nation, Humanity, Creativity, Integration’.

In the movie category, the golden lotus prize went to the films ‘Nhung Nguoi Viet Huyen Thoai’ and ‘Scandal- Bi Mat Tham Do’ and the silver lotus prize went to the films ‘Lac Loi’ and ‘Thien Menh Anh Hung’.

The best director prize went to director Victor Vu for his two films ‘Thien Menh Anh Hung’ and ‘Bi Mat Tham Do’.

The best actor prize was given to Truong Minh Quoc Thai for the film ‘Nhung Nguoi Viet Huyen Thoai’, while the the best actress prize was given to two talent actresses, Van Trang for the film ‘Scandal-Bi Mat Tham Do’ and Tang Bao Quyen for the film ‘Nhung Nguoi Viet Huyen Thoai’.

Actor Thai Hoa for the film ‘Lua Phat’ and Nguyen Thuy Linh for the film ‘Va Anh Se Tro Lai’ won awards for best supporting actress and actor. People's Artist Nguyen Huu Tuan and Kieran Daniel Fowler for the film ‘Duong Dua’ won awards as best cameramen. This year, the best writer for film script went to Nguyen Anh Dung for the screenplay ‘Nhung Nguoi Viet Huyen Thoai’.

The golden and silver lotus prizes were given to the films ‘Nguoi Cong Su’ and ‘Nuoc Mat Nguoi Cha’ in the video category. The best director prize in this category was given to director Tran Trung Dung for his film ‘Nuoc Mat Nguoi Cha’. The best actor, actress prize belonged to actor Huynh Dong for the film ‘Nguoi Cong Su’ and actress Hong Thi for the film ‘Suoi Nguon’.

The organizers also selected the best films to award the golden lotus prizes in the field of documentary film, scientific film, and cartoon.
