On September 15, The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) cooperated with the Vietnam Advertising Association and Vinama Communications JSC to organise the Vietnam Creative Advertisement competition to honour creative Vietnamese adverts.

According to the organising board, it is the first professional-scale programme to honour creative media advertisers in Vietnam. The event was held to implement a project building and promoting national brands in 2020-2030 and boost the development of the advertising industry.

The awards aim to highlight the role and continuous growth of the advertising industry in the country’s socioeconomic development, creating better conditions to promote the development of creative advertising.

According to the chairman of the Vietnam Advertisement Association Nguyen Truong Son, advertising is one of 12 key cultural economic sectors in the strategy to develop cultural industries. Developing the advertising industry contributes to paving the way for Vietnam to bring indigenous cultural images to friends worldwide and affirms Vietnam’s creative power globally.

This year, along with the traditional advertising awards awarded by the MoCST, this year, the organising committee has built a new and more groundbreaking award portfolio worth VND500 million ($21,000) thanks to the participation of the Vietnam Advertising Association and Vinama Communications JSC.

The MoCST will award the first, second and third prizes to impressive works in: television advertising; advertising on outdoor boards and signs; advertising on electronic newspapers and social networking platforms; and integrated media advertising.

Meanwhile, the organising board will award the biggest prize of $10,000 to the most special work.

The organising board will receive works between September 20 to November 20. The awards presentation ceremony will be held in Hanoi in December 2023.

The contest took place for the first time from June 2021 to November 2021, with competition criteria covering professionalism, quality, and good content. It attracted good participation from organisations, individuals and media nationwide, and the organising committee received nearly 100 entries from 50 businesses and major brands.

The winning entries were praised for their quality, preserving cultural and ethical values, raising awareness of community responsibility, and contributing to Vietnam’s advertising industry.
