Trade promotion 2022 is on the horizon |
The trade connection programme is within the framework of the National Program on Trade Promotion in 2022, jointly organised by the central agency and localities in the northern and north-central regions. The programme innovates methods of national-level trade promotion activities to adapt to the gradual economic recovery.
The highlight of the programme will be 23 booths displaying and introducing unique products and the strengths of localities around Ly Thai To monument square and pedestrian street from May 20 to May 22.
At this time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is quickly building and implementing trade promotion activities, supporting industries to promote production and business as well as achieve the growth targets for this and the following years.
According to Do Thang Hai, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, the pandemic has dragged down consumption demand, causing export disruption and raw material shortages. Due to the decreased earnings caused by this, most Vietnamese firms have had to alter their business plans for the new normal.
Through local trade promotion agencies and Vietnamese trade offices worldwide, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has organised many online trade conferences with international trade promotion partners. The events have created thousands of connections between local businesses and foreign importers for key and potential market exports.
“The following trade connection activities will alleviate some production and business issues, encourage export growth and economic stability, and promote long-term restructuring in diverse export industries," said Hai.
Vietnamese businesses have fostered connections, fully exploited the domestic market, and identified new opportunities without disrupting the supply chain. However, businesses require the support of both national and local governments in developing trade promotion activities, connecting supply and demand, and bringing Vietnamese goods to large supermarket chains.
Other activities within the programme include connecting with export enterprises and foreign trade promotion organisations. It is critical to boost product supply and demand activities, market stability, and domestic consumption demand.
The initiative will provide information and solutions to help businesses boost exports directly into foreign distribution networks and effectively participate in the global production value chain. It also offers useful information from localities and international organisations in the field of trade and investment promotion.
The event is expected to contribute to helping businesses overcome obstacles and find solutions to promote production and business activities in the coming time.
