The first is an upgrade of an 86km stretch of the Ham Luong River to allow passage of vessels of up to 5000 tonnes.
The project also involves construction of a transhipment port and a 2000sq.m warehouse by 2020. In 2030 one more transhipment port is to be built and warehouse space doubled. Total cost is estimated around VNĐ 500 billion (US$21.9 million)
Meanwhile, the construction of the My Thuan ferry port in Tien Giang Province and that of Tan Chau Port in An Giang Province is expected to cost VNĐ20 billion and VNĐ25 billion respectively.
