The 16th Swing for the Kids charity golf event raised $126,600 through domestic and foreign donors, the biggest amount for the event ever.

At the award gala for the event, Le Trong Minh, VIR’s editor-in-chief and head of the organising board, said it has continued to propagate the spirit of humanity for the promotion and nurturing of education and young talents across Vietnam.
The event has provided crucial support for those in need, especially disadvantaged yet studious individuals, he added.

Vo Hong Phuc, former Minister of Planning and Investment and tournament president, emphasised the event's increasing reputation among professional golfers and enterprises as a result of its growing scale, committed sponsors, and transparent process for allocating and granting scholarships to recipients.
"We would like to express our gratitude to the sponsors who have supported the event over the years, particularly BRG Group and SeABank, Samsung Vietnam, Vingroup, and others, who have consistently demonstrated an interest in this event,” Phuc said.

Also at the gala, a German Bruno Shohnle watch with a listed price of $1,200 was auctioned, with one golfer offering $3,000 for it, as a contribution to the charity fund.
This figure will contribute to building classrooms for the Chut ethnic people, one of the smallest ethnic minorities in Vietnam, at Ban Rao Tre School in Huong Khe district of Ha Tinh province.

This year's golf event saw the participation of nearly 250 golfers and was the 16th such tournament organised by VIR.
Being the first sponsor ever of the golf tournament, Phan Ngoc Cuong, general director of construction company CONINCO said it was actively contributing to social responsibility activities, education, and social charity through this participation.
"With the noble and practical humanitarian meaning of Swing for the Kids, CONINCO is happy to accompany VIR and businesses as a bronze sponsor for the first time, in order to support future generations," Cuong said.
CONINCO hopes that the event will create a strong spillover effect in the community to have more projects aimed at education, reaching mountainous areas and far-reaching schools.
