At a ceremony on May 13, 2024, VIR editor-in-chief Le Trong Minh congratulated the students on their good performances.
“The scholarships will help students to continue their studies and also show the heart, affection, and solidarity between VIR and Nghe An, where there is a tradition of studiousness and devoting talent and intelligence to the development of the province, the country, and society," Minh said.
VIR and Nam Dan district have been 'partners' since 2009, and the relationship is becoming increasingly close. He expressed deep gratitude to the sponsors of Swing for the Kids, including Samsung Electronics Vietnam, KinderWorld International Group, Vietnam Beverage, and SeABank, who all sent representatives to attend the event.

Choi Joo Ho, CEO of Samsung Electronic Vietnam and a representative of Swing for the Kids' donors, said that Samsung has training Vietnam's young generation. "Children are the future of Vietnam. You all must grow up strongly and comprehensively so that Vietnam can develop further," he said.
"While working in this country, I have met numerous excellent leaders and managers from Nghe An province. So I wish all students to study well and become future leaders of Vietnam," he added.

In addition to presenting the scholarships, the delegation visited the home village of President Ho Chi Minh in Nam Dan district to mark the late leader's 134th birthday.
Choi said, "I have always wanted to visit this village. Today, I am delighted that this wish has come true."
Since its inception in 2007, the annual Swing for the Kids charity golf tournament, organised by VIR with the support of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Vietnam Study Promotion Fund, has established itself as a highly regarded and socially significant event, embodying the principles of compassion and benevolence.
Over the course of 16 years, the tournament has successfully raised over $745,000. The funds have been utilised to provide more than 18,000 scholarships to underprivileged students, enabling them to surmount obstacles and pursue their educational endeavours.
Additionally, the contributions have been directed towards the enhancement and refurbishment of educational facilities in 40 cities and provinces nationwide, improving the learning environment for countless students.
