Organised by Vietnam Investment Review in collaboration with BRG Group and SeABank, the Swing for the Kids 2024 event attracted nearly 250 golfers, including investors, business leaders, and representatives from both domestic and international organisations, as well as diplomatic agencies.

Taking place at Kings Course and Mountain View of Kings Island Golf Resort in Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi, the tournament offered participants the opportunity to not only showcase their golfing skills but also contribute to meaningful charitable causes.

Le Trong Minh, editor-in-chief of VIR and head of the Swing for the Kids tournament, emphasised that as part of the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), VIR is committed to prioritising and engaging in social initiatives. This approach aligns with the ministry's broader aim to balance economic and social development, ensuring equal opportunities for growth.

“For the past 16 years, VIR and the organising committee of the Swing for the Kids charity golf tournament have been privileged to receive unwavering support from the MPI’s leadership, philanthropists, and the business community. This collective effort has enabled the Vietnamese Children's Scholarship Fund to fulfil its mission of compassion,” Minh said.

In addition to its annual scholarship programme for underprivileged students with exceptional academic achievements, this year’s tournament will focus on raising funds for the reconstruction of schools and supporting students in areas impacted by Typhoon Yagi. VIR will also collaborate with sponsors to enhance these initiatives.

Featuring nearly 250 golfers, the tournament is expected to deliver exciting experiences while continuing to provide scholarships that support underprivileged students across Vietnam.

The tournament is supported by 24 media partners, including Nhan Dan Online Newspaper, Government Electronic Newspaper, National Assembly Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency TV, Journalist and Public Opinion Newspaper, Hanoi Radio and Television, Party Building Magazine, Labor Newspaper, VietnamNet Newspaper, Hanoi Moi Newspaper, Tien Phong Newspaper, Capital Security Newspaper, Youth of the Capital Newspaper, Traffic Newspaper, Life and Law Magazine, News Newspaper, Knowledge and Life Magazine, Vietnam Education Electronic Magazine, Citizen and Learning Promotion Magazine, Vietnam Family Magazine, Environment and Life Magazine, Quality and Life Magazine, Golfnet Magazine, and Investor Magazine.

Tran Thanh Hai, deputy general director of Coninco, told VIR, " Coninco is a construction consulting company. In addition to this program, Coninco regularly participates in community social activities. This is the second time we have taken part in Swing for the Kids. It is a meaningful tournament, and I am very happy to accompany this event. I noticed that this year's theme includes additional sponsorships for children who are victims of Typhoon Yagi, which is very appropriate given the current circumstances. I hope VIR will continue organizing such meaningful events in the coming years, and Coninco will strive to participate again in the future."
