Swing for the Kids 2024 pays tributes to longstanding supporters

On October 12, Vietnam Investment Review successfully organised the annual Swing for the Kids charity golf tournament, raising VND2.3 billion ($95,800) from philanthropists and over 250 golfers from domestic and international diplomatic agencies, organisations, and entrepreneurs nationwide.

At the gala awards ceremony held on the same day, the organising board of Swing for the Kids 2024 honoured individuals who have supported and contributed to the development of this charity golf tournament over the years through the Golden Heart Grand Prize.

This year, the prizes were awarded to seven individuals from various agencies, businesses, and organisations, including those who founded the tournament and those who have consistently supported not only on the golf course but also in delivering scholarships to students.

Vo Hong Phuc, former Minister of Planning and Investment and president of Swing for the Kids, shared, “I remember the founders' aspiration to create a golf tournament with swings directed towards children with the will to progress but facing difficult economic circumstances.”

Emphasising the spirit of unity among compassionate hearts, Le Trong Minh, editor-in-chief of VIR and head of the organising board, shared, “The humanitarian purpose of Swing for the Kids, as well as the sincere wish of the tournament organisers, could only become a reality with the support, companionship, valuable contributions, and enthusiastic participation of all supporters.”

Since its inception in 2007, Swing for the Kids has raised over VND22 billion ($886,000), benefiting more than 21,000 students and supporting educational infrastructure improvements across 40 provinces.

Swing for the Kids 2024 saw continued support from long-standing partners. BRG Group and SeABank served as co-organisers, while Samsung Electronics Vietnam maintained its role as Diamond Sponsor and Vingroup returned as Platinum Sponsor. Other familiar names included Kinderworld Education and PetroVietnam as Gold Sponsors. Vietnam Beverage Co., Ltd., VINAMIKA Vietnam Co., Ltd., and EveryGolf JSC continued their support as Silver Sponsors.

Nguyen Thi Minh Khoa, director of VINAMIKA Vietnam Co., Ltd., shared her company's motivation to join Swing for the Kids 2024, “Our participation stems from a genuine desire to make a difference to the lives of students facing hardship across Vietnam.”

This year's tournament also featured new sponsors such as VinFast, Vietnam Golf Group, and GolfBeer, participating as Hole-in-One Sponsors.

VIR's Swing for the Kids 2024 also received support from other brands such as SaigonSocks, MIPA Golf, Cigars 1987, Ocany Vietnam, Thach Co Tra, and others. Meanwhile, the support of 25 press and television agencies as media sponsors helped further spread the spirit and influence of this year's charity golf tournament.
