The partnership also highlighted Red Bull’s efforts in spreading positive power and unleashing young talents to conquer their passions.

For many, the passion for the “king of sports” has been fuelled by the various achievements of the national football team. Starting with the marvellous victory at U23 Asia, the team continued to amaze the public with successive accomplishments becoming the champion of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Cup 2018 to winning the gold medal at SEA Games 30, along with many more victories at the continental level.

Football players like Cong Phuong, Van Toan, Xuan Truong, and more have lit a spark in football fans' hearts with their outstanding skills and passion.

The success of this generation is largely attributed to sports academies, large-scale training initiatives, and professional recruitment programmes. In all this, HAGL stood out as one of the first professional football institutes in Vietnam, contributing many “golden” names to the Vietnamese football scene.

With the aim of making professional coaching programmes more accessible to young talents, Red Bull partnered with HAGL Football Club to launch a football talent recruitment tournament for teenagers from 15 to 20 to evoke the inner power of potential professional football players.

The tournament shall reach out to five provinces and cities including Tien Giang, Can Tho, An Giang, Pleiku, and Binh Thuan, kicking off from April 2021.

The tournament shall reach out to five provinces and cities including Tien Giang, Can Tho, An Giang, Pleiku, and Binh Thuan, kicking off from April 2021.

At the elimination round, candidates will be divided into teams to compete 3-on-3 and 5-on-5, with each match lasting three minutes. Afterwards, the four best candidates from each province will be shortlisted to the final assessment round in Ho Chi Minh City in June 2021.

In the final round, the 20 selected candidates from five provinces will be grouped into teams of five to play offence and defence. In the end, at least one and at most four candidates with the best performances will be selected by HAGL FC.

The winners have the chance to participate in a four-month training programme compatible with their age, hosted by HAGL FC's Youth Team in Gia Lai province. All living and training expenses are covered by HAGL FC, in alignment with the club’s standards.

During the four-month training course, the young talents will receive football scholarships valued at VND20 million ($869) per individual from Red Bull, and the chance to appear in the brand’s video along with popular football player Quang Nho. After the training period, these young talents will be presented with an opportunity to sign an official contract with HAGL FC.

“Young people's path to their dreams will always be full of obstacles. Red Bull hopes to empower them with positive energy to evoke the inner strength within each young talent and cultivate their resilience, both physically and mentally,” said Nguyen Thanh Huan, country director of TCPVN, the owner of the Red Bull brand. “We believe that the young talent recruitment tournament with HAGL FC will give them confidence and courage to overcome any challenges they might encounter in their pursuit of pursuing professional football.”

Nguyen Tan Anh, managing director of HAGL FC, stated: “The potential, capability, and perseverance of young Vietnamese football players, especially those aged 15-20, are tremendous. Many talented football players are waiting for a chance to receive the necessary attention to shine. Through this recruitment tournament, we hope to discover the most promising faces and let them become part of our club’s talent pool.”

With this journey of discovering the future of Vietnam's football talent, Red Bull once again reaffirms its mission of spreading positive power, as part of TCPVN’s sustainable development journey in Vietnam.
