This milestone highlights Panasonic’s efforts towards its net zero goal and serves as a testament to its long-term commitment to promoting sustainable living awareness within the community.
Launched in 2022, Panasonic’s "Live Wellness, Contribute Green" programme was initiated to align with the Panasonic Green Impact commitment and support the Vietnamese government’s One Billion Trees Initiative (2021-2025). The programme brought to life the idea that every individual can contribute to building a "green fund", nurturing vast forests for the future.
For every air conditioner, refrigerator, washing machine, or health solution product sold, Panasonic pledged to plant tree-growing forests for a greener, healthier Vietnam. After three years, Panasonic proudly set a Vietnamese record of planting over one million trees nationwide in the shortest time.
The record ceremony was held at the Hoa Binh Wind Power Plant in Bac Lieu province on March 18, with the participation of government representatives, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Vietnam Records Organisation, strategic partners, and leading media outlets.
This milestone not only acknowledges Panasonic's tangible contributions to the community, but also serves as an opportunity to express gratitude to customers and partners who have supported this journey. This achievement would not have been possible without the collective efforts of the community; those who have embraced and promoted a greener lifestyle alongside Panasonic.
Marukawa Yoichi, general director of Panasonic Vietnam, shared, "We are proud that Panasonic Vietnam has been officially recognised by the Vietnam Records Organisation for initiating and successfully planting one million trees in the shortest time through the “Live Wellness, Contribute Green” programme. This is not only a meaningful milestone, but also a strong motivation for us to continue pursuing green initiatives, working together for a sustainable Vietnam.

"On behalf of Panasonic, I would like to express my deep gratitude to government agencies, local authorities, partners, and the community for their support throughout this journey. Moving forward, Panasonic is committed to advancing the ‘Live Wellness, Contribute Green’ programme, developing green technologies, and spreading sustainable living awareness within the community.”
The initiative has received high praise from government representatives and local authorities. Le Van Phuong, deputy director of Bac Lieu Department of Agriculture and Environment, said, "Panasonic Vietnam has made practical contributions to environmental restoration and raising community awareness. The “Live Wellness, Contribute Green” programme is an exemplary model of corporate social responsibility. We will continue to provide favourable conditions and collaborate with Panasonic in environmental activities towards a sustainable future and a greener Vietnam."
As part of the event, Panasonic introduced a range of activities, with the highlight being a forest visit. Guests had the opportunity to explore the coastal protection forest in Soc Trang province and personally plant new saplings. This activity provided valuable insights into forest ecosystems and their role in mitigating climate change, and inspired a greater sense of environmental responsibility within the community.

Beyond setting a record, this event also provided an opportunity for the community to reflect on the positive impact of the "Live Wellness, Contribute Green" programme. In 2025, the initiative had successfully planted 1,071,300 trees across 20 provinces, carefully selecting 17 native species suited to different ecological regions. These trees not only enhance landscapes, prevent soil erosion, and protect groundwater sources, but are also projected to absorb 108,000 tonnes of carbon over the next 10 years, helping mitigate climate change.
