Panasonic Vietnam officially introduced its latest innovation, the Panasonic HARMONY+ Edition refrigerator, on December 9. Featuring a unique Slot-in wall design, the refrigerator seamlessly integrates into kitchen spaces, combining functionality with modern aesthetics.
As Vietnam's urbanisation rate is projected to exceed 50 per cent by 2030, with over 1,200 urban areas nationwide, city residents face increasing constraints on living space. Limited kitchen designs, in particular, pose challenges for safety, convenience, and aesthetics. Recognising these needs, Panasonic conducted in-depth research to develop the Urban Solution product line, addressing space optimisation and lifestyle enhancement for urban households.
The standout feature of the HARMONY+ Edition is its Slot-in wall design, enabled by a concealed hinge that eliminates the traditional 5-10cm gap on either side of the refrigerator. This creates a unified and visually appealing kitchen layout, while also simplifying cleaning and maintenance. Despite the minimal 0.4cm gap between the refrigerator and kitchen cabinetry, the door opens to 120 degrees, ensuring effortless access to stored items.
Another key innovation is the Top-unit compressor technology, which moves the compressor from the base to the top of the refrigerator. This design maximises user convenience, enhances heat dissipation, and allows for a tighter fit–requiring only 2cm of space between the top of the refrigerator and the ceiling.
Inspired by Japanese minimalism, the HARMONY+ Edition embodies sharp, elegant lines and high standards of craftsmanship. The refrigerator is available in two modern finishes: Matte Black Steel and 3D Patterned Navy Blue, complementing various interior styles while reducing costs for users.
Beyond aesthetics, the refrigerator delivers advanced preservation features such as Prime Fresh Soft Freezing at -3°C, which keeps food fresh without the need for defrosting; separate vegetable and fruit compartments to maintain ideal humidity; Ag Clean Technology that offers 99.9 per cent antibacterial protection; an Auto Ice Maker that provides pure ice automatically; and enhanced storage options, including a deep freezer at -25°C for long-term storage and an antibacterial water container.
The launch event included a panel discussion featuring Phuong Nga, first runner-up of Miss Vietnam 2018, actor Binh An, and technology reviewer Duong De. The guests emphasised the importance of appliances that balance aesthetics and functionality, praising the HARMONY+ Edition’s ability to meet these demands. A representative from Panasonic highlighted the company’s dedication to enhancing lives through technology, stating, “The HARMONY+ Edition refrigerator reflects our commitment to understanding modern users’ needs. This product combines elegance and convenience, creating ideal living spaces for families to enjoy a higher quality of life.”
With over 100 years of innovation in Japan and five decades in Vietnam, Panasonic continues to uphold its core values. The HARMONY+ Edition refrigerator embodies this legacy, offering not just a household appliance but a finely crafted work of art that integrates seamlessly into contemporary living.
